Strawberry Hill House & Garden, created by Horace Walpole in the 18th century, has been open to visitors for over 250 years. This extraordinary building is internationally famous as Britain’s finest example of Georgian Gothic revival architecture and home to an increasingly important collection of paintings and objects.

House & Shop: Open 5 days a week, Wednesday-Sunday, 10am–5pm. Last entry 4pm.
Garden & Café: Open 5 days a week, Wednesday-Friday, 9.30am–5pm & Saturday-Sunday 9am-5pm.
Please note the gallery will be closed from 1pm on Wednesday 17th June for a private event. The rest of the house and cafe will remain open.

NEWS: Paper Castle is now open at Strawberry Hill House. Our first contemporary group exhibition, developed in collaboration with students from the Courtauld Institute of Art’s MA Curating programme, explores themes of illusion, artifice and the Gothic imagination through works installed throughout Walpole’s extraordinary villa. Included with general admission until 21 June.
NEWS: Step into the world of Georgian entertaining with historian and author Dr Amy Boyington on Thursday 25 June. After exploring Strawberry Hill House after hours, guests will enjoy a fascinating talk on the theatre of eighteenth-century dining, from lavish banquets and fashionable table settings to the customs and curiosities of Georgian feasting. The evening concludes with a Q&A and the opportunity to meet Amy and purchase a signed copy of her book.
